You know how much I talk about mindset.mindset

Because it is that IMPORTANT.

It drives everything!

Especially in terms of things like self-love and positive, confidence oriented thinking.

But that’s just part of it.

There’s an underlying “meta” mindset that you must have otherwise results won’t last.

A meta-mindset is one that underlies any particular mindset.

If positive confident thoughts are the cement of your building, then the steel structure is the meta-mindset that the cement must attach to.

You’ll build up an army of positive thoughts only to have your army slain by old habits creeping back in.

Of these meta-mindsets there are only two.

In her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, Carol Dweck describes this clearly and why it is so important.

The first meta-mindset is called the “Fixed Mindset.”

The Fixed Mindset assumes that:

[+] Our character, intelligence, and creative ability are static givens which we can’t change in any meaningful way.

[+] Success is the affirmation of that inherent intelligence, an assessment of how those givens measure up against an equally fixed standard.

[+] Striving for success and avoiding failure and all those which result to failure like shyness and social anxiety at all costs become a way of maintaining the sense of being smart or skilled.

Next we have the “Growth Mindset” which “thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence but as a heartening springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities.”

(Both of these descriptions I pulled from the Brain Pickings blog.)

Can you tell which mindset will kill your results in the long run?

And which will make you flourish on the path to confidence and success?

That’s right.

Fixed keeps us stuck and stagnant.

Growth keeps us progression and succeeding.

Which one do you live from?

I hope you said Growth, because that’s what this community is all about.

If not Growth, how long will you wait to make the choice to live from a Growth Mindset from now on, no matter what the cost?

What action are you taking to learn, practice and grow everyday that you can?

What are you waiting for?

I know it isn’t easy.

But I can tell you this, my private coaching clients are all Growth Mindset. In fact, I won’t take on anyone that isn’t.

These guys eat up everything I give them, want more and more. Their minds are HUNGRY for progress.
