What about you?
I have to be mindful, because I still love dark movies, TV shows and dark song lyrics.
Sometimes this can affect me mentally if I’m not careful. But right now I’m in an extreme growth phase playing with lots of growth tools that are constantly keeping me in a very positive and progressive state.
I used to be a really negative person and my mind can still go down the negative rabbit hole even though I’ve done a TON of reprogramming.
I also stay in practice everyday because being positive is not natural for me.
Lately I’ve been watching The Sopranos again whenever I get a chance. Though it is a pretty dark/morbid show, it also is very clever, unique and even funny.
It’s a modern day Italian mob show with a huge twist, mainly that the main character Tony Soprano is constantly seeing a psychotherapist.
If you are looking to stay away from negative things I wouldn’t recommend it.
One thing I LOVE about the show is the theme song.
And actually there is a very inspiring lyric in the 1st verse of it. Here is the verse:
“You woke up this morning, got yourself a gun Mama always said you’d be the chosen one
She said, “You’re one in a million
You’ve got to burn to shine
But you were born under a bad sign
with a blue moon in your eyes”
-“Woke Up This Morning” by Alabama 3 (aka The theme song to The Sopranos)
Can you tell which is my favorite line?
Yep, it’s this one:
“You’ve got to burn to shine.”
That one always caught my ear, because it reminds me so much of the process of growth and success.
It reminds me of the process of overcoming shyness and social anxiety into the next level of confidence and success.
It reminds me too of a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Have you ever thought of yourself like that?
I think you should, especially when things are dark and you feel down.
There is growth and even rebirth there.
You are The Phoenix, and often we have to burn away the negativity into ashes, so we can rise from the pile and SHINE.
En fuego…burning to shine.
Have hope, let your desire burn and keep moving forward.
