“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do thanEDD by the ones you did do.

So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.”

– Mark Twain

Have you asked yourself this question?

Twenty years from now what will you look back upon?

This is a POWERFUL exercise because it wakes us up to the lives we are living now and what we are or aren’t doing.

Change can be really scary, I know.

But to really succeed requires change if you didn’t know that already.

What got you here, won’t get you there, unfortunately.

It requires courage to do what we really want to do despite our social fear or any fear that we have.

I also find it’s never as scary as I thought once I actually do it, it’s always scarier before I do it.

I literally can’t think of a time it was scarier after, if at all.

It usually was exhilarating after I stepped through a fear like my fear of rejection.

And so…

Will you have done what you wanted to do, or will things remain the same if you look back from the future?

It’s a powerful question for me as well, because I’m just as human as you and can get stuck in a rut easily too.

So I suggest you go “back to the future.”

Take your mental time machine forward…

…whether that’s ten, twenty, thirty, forty or more years into the future.

Who would you have been?

What life would you have lived?

Can you see yourself living the same way as you do now, or what do you really want to shift in your life?

Confidence?

Career?

Friendships?

Women?

You are the master of your destiny.
